About Me

I’m Johna (she/they), a Brooklyn-based cartoonist and illustrator creating comics and books for kids and the adults raising them.

My work includes early readers, graphic novels, and short-form comics, and has appeared in The New Yorker, MUTHA Magazine, and The Gutter.

I hold an MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies and a BA in Architecture from Yale University. Before focusing on children’s publishing full-time, I worked as a User Experience Designer at companies including Instagram and The New York Times. I live in Brooklyn with my husband, two young sons, and our dog.
